Hello all ! (And shopping for a used E90)

Hey - just joined the forum!

I used to have a 2005 330i and now shopping for a decent E90 330i. I am looking at a used 2006 E90 330i with low miles tomorrow that I might buy privately, but the owner says that the windows and the sunroof are stuck and don't roll down. Its not a salvage title car and I am very handy with fixing cars ( I have fairly comprehensive set of tools).

Think that this is a straight forward electrical issue? Or something far more complicated and I should look elsewhere. So, its all 4 windows that don't roll down and the sunroof that doesn't move back.

Thanks Guys...!

Electrical gremlins are a bitch. It sounds straightforward, but if you like the car that much, it'd be worth a $100 pre-purchase inspection at a BMW dealership. They'll scan the car, which should help diagnose the issues with the windows. Straightforward could mean the footwell module is on the fritz, which may be why the all the glass is not moving.

If you end up getting the car (for a good price considering the windows) add to your tool set, a BMW scan tool.

yup I am going to buy a BMW scan tool for sure.

It does seem like its the Footwell module. They can be repaired I think.

Any suggestions on repairing them? Or I am better off buying a new/used one?

Thanks!

Have BMW fix it for free, there is a recall.
