Closer look at an EU Spec M2C exhaust system
I was able to take some photos at the Lightweight Heaquarters in Germany during the first analysis of the European spec M2 Competition exhaust system.
The intention was making a comparison to the standard S55 M3/M4 Midpipe and get more knowledge about the new OPF/GPF (gasoline particle filters) in order to build a new performance exhaust system for the European market. By the way: the project car was one of the very first delivered in Germany. Hockenheim Silver is definitely not white BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr The particle filter: BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr And here the comparison to the "normal" S55 secondary cats / mid pipe: BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr BMW M2 Competition Exhaust Dev by Chris Präger, auf Flickr The silencer of the M2C is obviously really really big... Lightweight has now an idea, how to develop their new M2C exhaust system. awesome, thanks for sharing!
Any pictures from the downpipes? As the US and EU Version should be different and there should be a differential pressure sensor? |

You can see it here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=18_1537 Part numbers are also different between EU and non-EU as you can see here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=18_1089 There it might be worth to see how this sensor looks, so that we can make a comparison between a down pipe with and without! Great photos, thank you! So now it is clear that EU M2C has OPF instead of secondary kat and not in addition. I noticed that M2C and M3/4 DPs have the same code..

We are working on ideas as we speak, but we need my car on the dyno to really understand what we can do. My car will go into the exhaust and tuning process early October, so give all tuners a bit of time to get some decent ideas and work out some products. They are all waiting for cars to test. MR |
