Update:
Here is the device, so it does appear to use shift sense to interrupt the ignition and use a can bus steering button to override. This device would certainly stop people from doing a man in the middle clone, it works similar to a remote starter in that if you try to shift out of gear it turns the ignition off and seems to go into a lockdown mode. My comment on insurance still stands. Pretty small and unlikely to be detected but could be if you traced non-factory wiring. It would come down to the installer ultimately. If they are installed correctly they will be undetectable
when installed and with it using the can they can be installed in different places on each car. This is one i installed to the new M2 comp |
