M2 LCI LBB with M2C mirrors and M-perf coilovers
Hi all,
Here is how my M2 LCI DKG looks like with its new M2C mirrors (installed 2 weeks ago) and its M-perf coilover suspension (installed last spring). From an aesthetical point of view, I always considered that the M2 was gorgeous, but lacked M-mirrors, and was a bit too high for a sport car. Furthermore, when I got it, I quickly realized that its stock suspension was way too jumpy. On the Belgian bumpy roads, each corner taken at relatively high speed gave me the unpleasant feeling that the car was about to jump up like a spring and end up on top of a tree. And my wife was literally sick in the car because of the constant vertical vibrations. The M-perf suspension solved totally the issue, making the car much more precise to drive AND more confortable. I also made install two weeks ago the M-color seat belts of the M2C, to make the interior a bit more 'M'. Now, I consider my M2 as just perfect |

I guess I just don't see the fascination with the M mirrors. I think the stock mirrors look fine.

I agree with you those are perfect mods. Love the subtle OEM stuff. May do the these exact same to my own - cheers!

I love the mirrors and the stance but I don't like the m colors on the seatbelts. They just seem to clash with the rest of the interior. A single line of blue or orange stitching or even a solid color would have looked better imo.

Needs black grills and spacers. Then it's perfect.

Yes, the stocks ones are OK. IMO, the car looks better with the M-mirrors, but that's surely a subtle (and subjective) difference. Still, since the E36 model, all M3 had "M-mirrors", and also the 1M and then the M4 (and M2C). So, they became kind of part of the DNA of a 'M-car' (under my own definition of the term), and it's just weird to me that the OG M2 didn't have them.

I thought OEM M Mirrors would not fit the OG M2?
Yes some reviews have noticed what you have, on a frankly normal road the car jumps and scares the life out of you, that's why UK firm developed AST suspension which is more compliant than stock suspension and deals with undulations far better while being lower too. About three grand to fit though. |

Does anyone else think the stock mirrors are too big and cause a blind spot? I sit as low as possible and the mirror is about eye level for me. When making some left hand turns, I have to get up to look over the mirror so I don't hit the median.
A concern that keeps me from getting the m-style mirrors is that they're gonna increase that blind spot. |

Nice! This is my plan as well... M2C mirrors and MPerf coilovers and maybe spacers then I'm done. Car is so fun right out of the box.

The mirrors and seat belts were ordered at and installed by Bavarian near Brussels (bavarian.be). I ordered the coilovers from a BMW garage in Germany (Autohaus Herrnleben GmbH), and made them install in my local BMW garage in Belgium (they were 1000€ more expensive in Belgium, this is why I ordered them in Germany). Total cost about 6000€ (2200€ for the mirrors).
