Front camber difference
I bought a 2013 435i M Sports with adaptive M sport suspension and had its wheels aligned yesterday, but the tech couldn't put the front left camber back within the spec. The front left camber is -1.12 while the right one is -0.12. The spec is (-0.04, -0.54). He said I need to change the bearing to correct it but should be fine as it is.
However, when I check the repair manual, the max difference between left and right is .30, and swivel bearing can adjust camber only +-.30, which means a new bearing wouldn't put the left camber back to the spec. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ent/1VnYMA3JlI Would it be fine to drive without correcting the camber? Otherwise, where should I look at and how much is it likely to cost to fix? One thing I don't understand is the car seems to drive straight whereas having more negative camber on the left should make the car pull into the right. Any chance of mismeasurement? It was aligned on a Hunter machine. Before alignment, the car pulled slightly to the left and the steering wheel was off center to the left ( \ ) 5~10 degrees. I also wonder what could have caused the camber change. The seller said it never had an accident or hit curbs but I never know... The front wheels have almost new non-RFTs of 225/40R19 93Y, although I don't think this can be related to the issue. Any advice? |

it's +30 minutes, not +.3 degrees. So it'll increase or decrease your camber by half a degree. I wouldn't let it stay that different. It wouldn't hurt to check your suspension and make sure everything is straight, it should never be 1degree different left to right when everything else is the same.
