I’m curious if anyone’s 1 year trial of BMW connected services has expired yet. The connected website says it is good for a year but I don’t see a price to restart the service. Anybody get a message communicating the cost?

I'm not sure how accurate or up-to-date this is (I read somewhere that BMW is instead pushing people into more expensive bundles), but the Connected Drive Service Availability Matrix PDF contains pricing info. To get it, go to this page, and then look for these areas on that page (about 2/3rds down the page): Onboard Connectivity -> 03 Assistance -> 03.3 BMW Assist Service Notes -> Service Availability Matrix PDF. Page 2 of that PDF contains "pricing".

However, I don't see a clear cost for the connected services.

Have I been misinterpreting something by assuming we had these services for 4 yrs. bundled with our new purchase? The matrix seems to reinforce that.

If you look at your Connected Drive services via the web page, US owners get four (4) years (for the services that they get with the car -- carplay, etc. are separate), with the odd exception of "BMW Connected+", which is only one (1) year.

For me it says 4y for C+, also for RTTI, 3y for automatic map update

Ours (US) doesn't even mention anything about a map update subscription. The website does have a way of selecting our US map update region, although that was broken for some weeks until recently.

The Service Availability Matrix is dated for April 27, 2017, as I have On-Street Parking Info but the matrix says its not available for the G01's. Apparently none of the literature on the page has been updated since 2017.

You might have better luck looking around in your BMW Connected account for more info and prices.

To be honest I haven't spent much time looking at Connected Services, and frankly don't know what the Connected+ offers above what the regular Connected Drive offers as I don't require/use much of that technology. So I opened the BMW Connected App (first time since adding our 2019 a few months ago, and not opened at all since we got our 2018 in Oct 2017) to see what came up. Appears our 2019 has the 'Globe+' emblem next to it and our 2018 does not. But I'm able to check the gas tank, mileage range, location, and activate the 3D view of our 2018 in our garage, so maybe that is part of the regular package.

If a message came through about continuing CD+ beyond the year I may have just deleted it, as I don't recall seeing one.

Connected drive is free for 4 years. Connected Plus is a one year trial.

You're not missing much. It's only marginal feature is the ability to send a destination to the car's (BMW's) nav:



However, you have to send the destination via the app (if I'm planning a trip, I'd rather do it from a desktop browser). Carplay users will find it much more useful to just use google maps or waze directly.

When my 1-year sub is up, I'm just going to let it expire, because it's not worth subscribing to this.

I asked a similar question in the other thread about retrofitting the Display key - if our Connected App is free for 4 years only, will the cost of the Display key include lifetime subscription of functions included in the Connected App?
