Should be very interesting. Looks like they opted for the ventilated seats, meaning I expect them to write one whole update on them and how they don't like them, based on many of the posts I've seen on here. Wish it were Car and Driver using the M40i as a long-term tester, as their writing is much better, but should be interesting to hear what they think.

I've read poor reviews on here about the ventilation (lack of adjustable bolsters aside), but I have to say mine ventilate way better than my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee's did.

I love the ventilated feature and actually chose it over the adaptive suspension (no car in my city had both ventilated and adaptive for some reason so it was one or the other).

I only used it once since even in Texas it doesn't get too hot these days, but I assume I'll be using it daily starting in a month or two.

I do miss the side bolsters that kept you in place though.

I imagine MT got that 2018 real cheap instead of opting for a 2019. Bet they will miss the M sport steering wheel that the 2019 finally received.

LOL I don't think folks at MT would even know that BMW did a switcheroo on the steering wheel or the gas strut in the trunk. Let's see if they would say something here...

Have you looked into coding for this? I was able to get the flow increased via coding in my 550, not sure if that is available in the X3 as I haven't looked into it yet.

Forgive me, but where are you all seeing ventilated seats on these cars? We just specced one out and never saw ventilated seats on the option list. I also don't see this in the MT review.

Thanks!

Only available with certain leather colors, not all of them. And beware, it removes the deep sport seat bolsters and you end up with a flatter seat.

I have ventilated seats and love them. Not as snug as sport seat but have given many relaxing miles on 8 hour trips.

Thank you...we ordered the Cognac leather and it looks like the option disappears if you pick that color. Never knew it was there for other colors. I do wish we had known. Oh well. The Cognac color with Phytonic Blue is sure pretty though!

Yea the whole build website is tricky and not transparent about all of the options. Ventilated seats are a must for me for most of the year (being in Houston I need them on even during some days in the winter).

I swear that when I used the term 'switcheroo' two months ago, I had no idea that the same term would appeared in the headline of MT's long term test update...

Latest update. Now with reliability issues...nothing new to us. But these problems haven't been discussed much here, if at all. Waiting to hear about the active shutters, vibrations, and the other common problems we see here.

The 2018s had a gas strut to hold up the floor of the cargo area when you lifted it up. They removed it in the 2019s because of apparent problems with it tearing out of its mounts or something. Quite a few people test drove a 2018 with the strut and had their 2019 arrive without that feature, I don't mind it not being there but I can see how the difference would be annoying.

I see, Thanks. I only test drove the 2019, so not even know it was there in 2018. If done right, it make using the compartment much easier.
