Not my cat/kitten. Its a neighbor who is nursing him and had sent me the link. The cat is sick and would be put down right away. I believe this is her worst case scenario and last resort. She already took it to the hospital and paid for first round of meds, checkup, ect.

I don't think she is looking for $2,000. She is just trying to get the cat healthy, neutered, chipped, and rehomed. They ask you to set a limit/goal. That is just the number she entered. Again I agree its pretty ridiculous, but when you see this little guy struggling to breath while laying on you.... It made me want to just repost for the hell of it.

If anything, I hope it made you boys laugh.

Some cold hearted replies, hoping that this is just the 'spirit of OT' to not take a/t seriously. I certainly sympathize - just brought a stray cat in to our vet after finding her down in the street, and was trying to set in my mind what $$ I'd tell them was my limit - poor gal was DOA but I'm gonna send you s/t this evening when I'm not on the work computer. Your local ASPCA or Cat Coalition probably has options for low-cost spay/neuter.

I appreciate the positive response, insight, and kindness. I told the girl, I’d pay/donate for the neutering portion if she ends up keeping the cat and it makes a recovery. I can totally understand other people’s skepticism, but again seeing this little guy in person made me want to help. Thank you again Maynard

I hope people are joking and really aren't that cold hearted. We always had a cat around when growing up, so I have a soft spot for tabbies like this.

Exactly why it hit a soft spot with me! Little guy is wheezing With bloody snot coming out. Yet all he wants to do is cuddle and sleep on you. All shocking, considering he is 3-4 and was likely abandoned at a young age . First day in he learned to use the litter box without issues. Doctors seem hopefully that if antibiotics work he will survive. So far he’s been on them 2 days and while he is still having issues breathing, it is not as bad as before. When he was first found, his whole nose was plugged with blood and booger’s. Thank you for the kind words and standing up for our furry little guy.

Scenario one would be cute gal dupes you into helping her support her bogus scheme of pay for cat rescue, and her being cute gir you fall for it and there isn’t even a cat involved.
Scenario two is there’s a cat but you’re just doing this because there’s a cute girl asking you to and, like you said, there’s two pussies at stake here.
