10.1 is the version of the app. Sorry. Pretty confusing title to the thread.

I updated my iPhone app last night, but how do you enable Amazon Alexa IN the car? I followed the steps in the app to link our Alexa to our connected drive account. So I can now unlock the car or check the fuel range from my living room couch by voice...but this has no effect on adding Alexa IN the car itself. Ideas?

According to some google searches, all BMWs built after March 2018 should have Alexa enabled. So...why isn’t it?

Still plenty of complaints that the app is loaded with issues. One would think that BMW Connected Drive Services would fully beta test before releasing the golden master version to the general public.

Minimum Viable Product
"Done is better than perfect."
Mantra of millennial software developers and the companies for which they work... including, clearly, BMW. Problem is, their definition of "done" is different than consumers'. That's where MVP (Minimum Viable Product) enters the picture. They push out crap they expect consumers to beta test for them. Here's a short post that captures the spirit of how this operates. Software development methodologies such as DevOps have made the situation even worse in the years since this post was written. https://www.quora.com/Is-it-okay-if-...ing-my-product
