How convenient is luggage compartment floor net?

Has anyone used luggage compartment floor net?

The product link on BMW site is https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/3...MENT-FLOOR-NET.

Would the net prevent multiple bags with various food items from moving around the trunk? Is the net easy to use?

Thank you for the advise!

Never used one, so I can't say. But I never have multiple bags, as least not more than I can fit on the passenger seat. I do most of my grocery shopping at a club (BJs) where I load it all into boxes, for which the GT trunk is ideal.

At first, I did not think it would be very useful, at least that was my thought before we had kids. But now with multiple kids doing sports, I find it is handy when throwing stuff in the trunk to use the net to keep soccer balls, fold up chairs, backpacks, etc from bouncing around. So for me, it is useful and I definitely use the netting.

I moved from a VAG product which has the fantastic bag hooks in the trunk so I really wanted something similar. Since BMW doesn't really offer anything I could find for the 3 series (not Touring or Gran Coupe) so I picked up one of these from a 3rd party and have been quite happy with it. It does get a little tight on some items (like bananas or soft cheese) but for the most part is not an issue.

I ordered a floor net off Ebay. It came from China and I've been happy with it. Secures a wide range of sizes and shapes.

I use the shit out of mine. As in pretty much every single day.

It's currently holding a snow brush, small shovel and sun visor from rolling around the trunk.

It is funny how useful the net has become, once you use it.

Is it or equivalent available on amazon or through bmw accessories? The one I have now and use came with my new car, but I had a previous one that I bought through one of the websites that sells bmw accessories.

Try AliExpress. Most accessories come from China anyway, so you might as well cut out the middle man. The only downside is delivery might take two weeks.

I purchased the net and super happy with it!

I ended up purchasing the net and super happy with it. It holds bags with groceries firmly in place!

My 2018 340i came standard with the cargo net, it's useful for several loose items in the boot. I think for luggage is useless, unless small and light. Otherwise, it's a pain to keep having to hook it--you have to know which side is right and stretch it to the corresponding ones. It also takes time, however, you'll be grateful nothing spills or breaks

Do you guys use the net while having a trunk liner? My liner blocks the hooks and goes over it.

Interesting. Always wondered if both could be used at once.

So the liner has cutouts for the mounting points, I take it?

The way it sits in my car is the two back hooks are slightly elevated and thus set off from the oem bmw trunk liner. The two front hooks are also set off enough so that the liner doesn't cover them. I'm away for a few days and can't look at my car, but for me the liner does not interfere with the two front net hooks either. Hope that helps.

The cargo mat does cover hooks on the rails, so I took them off and I am using stationary hooks that are properly positoned to stretch the net.

So you added your own hooks? How and where did you attach them.

Im looking to pick up a rear cargo mat but dont want to lose functionality of the net.

Are there differences in the location of the hooks on different model years? In my 2018 I use the net all the time and have an oem bmw trunk liner I bought from the bmw accessories website. I believe I bought the bmw sportsline trunk liner with the red stripes (do we have different liners?). So for me, I have access to all 4 hooks and can have my trunk protected from sweaty soccer gear, muddy shoes, etc. and use the net to keep that stuff from kids from moving around the car after their games.

Lol I'm not sure if it's different or if the oem liner is designed so that it doesn't block the hooks? I have an aftermarket liner.
