Updated Software

Took my car in for the steering wheel lock jammed issue and all of the software were updated. Note that I have not gotten any updates since the recall early 2006. A few days before I took the car in I reset my transmission. I noticed a couple of things after the update, for what it's worth.

1. The gas paddle seems to have a little more pressure, hence more feel. As subtle as it sounds it actually makes a big difference on how the car feels.

2. The shifts is more aggressive than before even for normal driving. It feels like it gained some HP with the same amount of inputs.

3. Shifts seem to be quicker and more precise especially from the stop. Before the update, when going uphill it sometimes start in second. Now it feels like it starts in first. It pulls without delay.

Note that all of the above is for normal "D" mode with normal driving, i.e. not overly aggressive, as I did not drive in "DS" often enough to make an observation.

All in all a good update. It feels like a new car.
