I have been getting several misfires lately I have been on full E85 for at least four years, common misfires are cylinder 1,5,&6 but occasionally I get 2 & 4 so I took care of the usual suspects brand new plugs brand new coils but same issues. I put in a tank of 93 octane to find out that I no longer have misfires. I go back E 85 and I continue to get the same misfire.
I guessing High pressure fuel pump is going out I've been going back-and-forth from E 85 to 93 octane only get misfires with E 85. I have not checked yet if I have leaky injectors not sure whether I should check those first or swap a new high-pressure fuel pump in. Any ideas which I should do first thank you and advance R Also I have stage one in tank fuel pump upgrade

We could throw a bunch of guesses around to start or you can expedite the process with a datalog.
Also, stage 1 IN TANK? Do you have an additional fuel pump outside the tank or do you have an upgraded one in the tank? Aside from the issue at hand, if you're running straight e85, it is a good idea to run gas through it every so often periodically. |

That's not enough fuel to keep up with running full e85. You can maybe run up to E50 with that setup.

Maybe the stage one pump is wearing out I have to upload a log eventually but I was running full e85 for four years
My stage one kit was one of his first test kits

E 85 race
I know it could be quite a few things but maybe that in-line pump is getting old seeing how it is four years old

Good, you've addressed ignition so we can table that.
0. Please post data logs showing high pressure, low pressure, AFRs, STFTs in a 4th gear pull. Additionally, there should be shadow engine codes from running your setup. Can you show us what codes you have? 1. Stage 1 pump shouldn't be enough to run e85 with higher boost demands. And yes, this in-tank/low pressure pump could be dying as well. 2. Check your fuel filter. E85 is never really 'pure' so all types of contaminants could be clogging this. 3. Have you ever inspected your FPR? 4. Data logs might help us determine if your HPFP is going out. 5. What index are your injectors? 6. Have you checked all fuel lines and connections going from lpfp to hpfp?

Really need the data log and then we can see a couple things.
Walnut blasted recently? Running straight ethanol for years, did you use fuel system cleaner periodically? |
