Z4 it is!
So I have decided that a Z4 will replace / accompany my 2015 M235 Coupe.
I am undecided on which version and will likely not decide before I have also driven a M40i. However, maybe you guys come up with some better decision criteria. Pro 30i - 255hp is enough power for a Roadster as DD on U.S. roads. I don't plan to track it either. - Blacking out with extended shadow line trim looks better (to me) then the Cerion Grey grill and mirror caps (I would like likely buy CF caps and black grill then anyway). - Lower price (60 vs 70k loaded) Pro M40i: - Why not? - Coming from a M235 the 30i feels uncompetitive in power and sound - Plan to own this as a fun car for an extended period (5+ years), might just get the top version Anything else you come up with? Once I have driven a M40i I probably can make the final call.

Two of the most compelling reasons to buy the M40i version over the 30i version are....
1. You get to go to "M" Town 2. and second and most importantly .... The Chicks Dig It!!!!!!!!!!! |

2. Chicks don't even understand the M brand most of the time 3. The reason to get the M40i is it will be fun as hell to drive. It's a fantastic car on its own. |

If you buy a convertible and plan on using it as a daily, your gonna want to hear a great exhaust. The 4 cylinder's power is good, but the exhaust is well... a four cylinder, the M40i's inline 6 however sounds amazing. Also coming from a M235i you'll likely want to stick with the smooth and silky inline 6, especially if planning to keep for 5+ years.

I agree that the M40i may not be a true M but you're going to have a blast driving it. I know I will if mine ever gets off the freakin boat. |

Pro 30i sport - lower weight (105 kg) probably better handling.

Another criterion...may be difference in cost of insurance...might be considerable depending on your driving record and location. Have only driven the 3.0 but if comparison is similar to the 230i vs M240; I think I'd be very happy with the 3.0 4 cylinder model. Less up-front cost, lower weight, more agile and lower insurance.
