Went to the NY Auto Show today. I got to say Cadillac's new 3-Series competitor the CT5 looked good enough for my future consideration. The fake exhaust tips was lame though.

I genuinely hate this whole fake exhaust outlet trend.

I hear you. While I'm not crazy excited, I think the exterior looks every bit as good as the G20. In my defense it looks better in person than in pictures.

I call it the droop-meister kink. 🤷🏻*♂️
The super-short front overhang is sexy though.

Sweet car, for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Cadillac has been stepping their game up the past few years.... no doubt about that. Interested to see a reputable comparison review of this, BMW, Audi, Mercedes. |

At least it's got the exhaust behind the goofy finisher. Audi and others don't even try anymore.

The one on the turntable didn't have the same body kit as the silver one I posted earlier. Be aware of this when spotting them in the wild. 💡

After seeing this, I think I may go pick up one of the remaining ATS. The design is too busy and overstated for my taste.
Thanks for Posting.

My personal experience with seeing this car was that it caught my attention. I gave it a good look and moved on. I was later at an adjacent booth when I saw the CT5 at a bit of a distance when I "got it." The exterior lighting looks well done; delivering both a sophisticated, but also a sinister look. I will say I'm not a fan of the rear of the car below the bumper... That 'diffuser' would need be toned down; and the damn fake bumper exhaust outlets are just offensive. However, overall it's a sharp looking car to me. I can fix those exterior issues. My real concern is that the overall performance it's going to be too soft for me. Ya know- if BMW would have had their G20 at the show I would have been able to see their relative sizes by walking a few yards. But I digress... 😒

Gotcha. Makes sense since the entire fleet has switched to the new two letter, single digit nomenclature. Except the Escalade of course. Wonder if they will end up switching its name as well

Because you'll not be able to say 'Slade anymore.

Cadillac says there will be a CT4 slotted below the previous ATS sized car. One of the complaints was the ATS was too small in the rear seat and trunk, so not sure of that plans success.

I hate the side inlets under the headlights on the G20. Cadillac just goes even worse; ugh!

The CT5 wasn't that bad, but it actually did seem to employ the same 'close enough' approach to real exhaust outlet-to-bumper outlet placement. It all just feels so fake and poser.

Good: can fit a set of golf clubs across the back of the trunk area. A lot of cars fail to deliver this capability.
BTW, my F30 can haul clubs in this way. Bad: the opening when the seats are folded is massively behind a BMW. The trapezoid-ish opening stinks, and the crossover to the cabin-trunk is nowhere near as seamless.
