I fancy myself a hairdresser extraordinaire based on my cutting my own hair. I have three electric shaver settings i use to create my spiky hair thing. I dont know about "hair scissors" though.

I also don't know much about that. Braun seems fine. I usually get whatevers relatively cheap at target lol.

I personally use the oster 76 classic clippers with 0000 blade for my head. Been doing the q-ball thing for almost 15 yrs now and these clippers are great. Commercial quality, heavy and torquey. Also, just grew out a beard for the first time this year and have been experimenting with beard trimmers to maintain a full beard. Landed on the brio beardscape recently. Different speed settings, length attachments, and good weight. So far so good. Lastly I have a cheap set of wahl clippers for other various manscaping needs. No real need for scissors...

A good friend is a barber...Andis is the brand of clippers he uses. I have a couple and they work great.

My daughter is a cosmetologist, she said to tell you they are called shears.

When I do an internet search and use the word ‘shears’ I got better results.

Every barber I ever went to has had this in their arsenal.

They all swear by this brand for clippers. OP if you need clippers that will last, get Andis.

Not sure if Andis makes scissors.

My wife has been in the industry for over 20 years. There are several outstanding manufacturers of hair shears, almost all of them from Japan. My wife uses Washi. I believe she has one of the Washi Ultimate line of shears costing just under $900 when she bought it. She only cuts hair occasionally now (friends and family and mannequin heads to keep her skill set up) as she is now in management for a hair color company, but undoubtedly these would last a lifetime with proper care.

I have quite a few friends in the beauty industry.
One tip I take advantage of is that mobile sharpening services periodically come by to sharpen the stylists' shears. I will usually leave personal items (knives and scissors) with my stylist so they get taken care of the next time the sharpening truck comes around.

Sounds like my ex-wife!

From what I remember, decent shears don't even start until the $500 range. Then pro-sharpening every 4-6 months, and on and on.

I mean shears can vary widely in price and size. how big is your hand. how big you need the shear. different sizes for different cuts. I think your question should be most verstile shears that are affordable. Which I cant answer
