Which 75”+ TV?

Hey everyone!

I am currently running a 55” Sony Bravia X900E. It’s pretty good but too small. I am looking at getting a 75” screen, and Sony has some good ones like the X950G.

Any other ideas? What do you guys have?

LG's OLEDs are current top dog in most people's minds.

LG OLEDs are best in dark rooms. If your room has a lot of open windows and lights then get a Samsung QLED. OLED will have the better quality. But I recently bought a QLED bc my living area has a lot of natural light.

i’ve been buying samsung TVs lately, my largest is a 75” 4k, i’ve had it for about 3 years or so, it has been solid, great picture quality, no issues to speak of.

I have a 50” samsung that has been left outside (no rain, but full temp swings), for 2 years, also no issues.

Garage List
I also have a Samsung 75” NU8000 and 70” KU6300. I really like the picture on both. The 8000 is a better picture of course, but mainly because of the better HDR processor. One thing to note is that Samsung does HDR10 and not Dolby Vision.

Agree Sony makes a damn fine television. Not a knock against LG (actually have one in the guest bedroom); however, it’s just that the Sony picture is that much more vivid.

Concur, we have three, 45”, 65” and 75”, never had any issues with any of them.

Ahh I see votes for both LG OLED and Sony, I know Sony uses the same
Board but it seems they have better processing.

That Sony oled A9G looks amazing but the price for 77inch is a good jump

For more reviews and for that particular model you can go to avsforums and there's members with that TV who discuss everything you need to know about it

I've got an 80" Samsung in the great room and a 55" of the same model in my bedroom. Unsure of the model number but they are about 5 years old and I'm still impressed every time I watch TV. I'd like to get a 4k but I don't watch enough tv to justify the spend; especially when nothing is wrong with what I currently have.

In retrospect, I see how pointless my entire post in this thread is. Completely devoid of any information aside from my own logic. You're welcome.

I have the following:

Samsung 65" - UN65JS8500
Samsung 55" - UN55JS9000
Samsung 55" - QN55Q8FN
LG 65" - OLED65B8PUA

The Samsung televisions are solid but they cannot compete with the LG OLED televisions. In all fairness, Samsung is getting better with the QLED line but they still have substantial ground to cover. Black uniformity and local dimming are not where they need to be. It is very noticeable on the Samsung televisions.

FYI, I find RTings to be a legit source for information.

The living room isn't huge, the viewing distance is 10 feet, according to those online
Charts it can be anything from 65 to 75' tvs.

I'm leaning more towards oled, but that would put me in the 65 range
Due to price hikes

Check this out:

https://www.valueelectronics.com/upl...ut_Results.pdf

For those that don't know, Value Electronics has been putting on a TV shoot out for years. There are many of the respected AVS Forum posters that attend these things. It's been a while since I've been on AVS Forum and looked at any TV reviews. Been satisfied with my ISF calibrated Pioneer plasmas.

The room our 75” is in measures 20’ x 15’ and the couch is about 12’ from the TV. The ceiling is 22’ though, so we could use a little bigger TV to cover some wall space.
