No more front license plate in Texas?
There is a Bill in Texas Legislature that proposes that the state should only issue one license plate for attachment at the rear of the vehilce.
Link to the Bill details page on the Texas Legislature website: http://www.legis.state.tx.us/BillLoo...0R&Bill=HB1666 Link to Bill (html version): http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs...l/HB01666I.htm Does anyone know if this has been passed into law yet, or will this Bill have to be re-introduced in the next legislative session? I think the removal of the front license plate has been up for discussion in the Texas Legislature for quite some time, but nothing has ever come of it. Maybe one of you law geeks can chime in. |

No, it failed or never reached legislation.

They took a shot at the same legislation in NJ. Had a good argument for the cost savings to the state. The cops believe it is a safety issue, cant get the license number when approaching from the front or something or other.....There are links out there on the internet on this...not sure how it all came out.
