2015 328i knocking noise

I have a 328i n20 with a knocking sound coming from the back of the engine somewhere between the engine and the gearbox specially when i turn the A/C on

I didn't visit the dealer because my warranty

I had the same sound. Ended up being the vacuum caps were missing off the bell housing of the transmission by the torque converter. There's a total of 3. The 2 bottom ones feel off. I replaced them and the noise is gone. I did get my transmission and torque converter checked before hand to see if that was the issue and my Indy shop said everything looked good. You can find the caps on realoem.com under the transmission section. They are labeled as CAPS. Theyre only$9 a piece. Hope this helps
