Waze? Phone cupholder?

Anyone know if you can integrate waze into the car? Also, can anyone recommend a good cell phone holder (wireless charger doesn't let me see the waze screen).

I have not used Apple's Car Play for months, but I was able to use Waze that way.

I prefer the BMW nav so I put my iPhone on the charger and although I cannot see the screen Waze alerts come through the G05 sound system which is all that I need. I run with an R7 + V1 and sometimes add Escort Live to the mix.

Waze works well through Apple CarPlay after iOS update and idrive 7/2019 software upgrade.

I can't comment much if you are an android user.

This is what I've been using as a cup holder phone mount. Works well.

As everyone has said, Apple Car Play is truly unreliable. So what i have resorted to do:
1. Use iDrive bluetooth
2. Have Connected app on my phone. Then send destinations from my phone to the car (then log into my profille>connected app> select the destination that was sent whenver I need to use it)
3. Prop my phone (iphone xs) on the vent mount (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
4. Have Waze on "Alert" only so that I can have it both ways as in a. Seeing turn by turn direction via HUD, b. Still receive Waze alerts for cops and "traffic camera ahead" without looking at it.

Overall this X5 has been a joy to drive, and a learning curve to achieve...what with all the tech goodies that in it

Not the best solution in my opinion. Super heads down and dangerous in that respect.

I’ve used this in the past and it’s great if you use a case... but I stopped using it with the X5 as CarPlay made it unnecessary.
