Does the OM state the accuracy of the gauge. I am curious how it compares to regular gauge.

I really liked this feature on our previous Infiniti's. It's good that on the current BMW iDrive, it will display which tire is low (with that particular tire being in yellow and the others that are ok in green), but maybe BMW will get smart and display the actual tire psi for MY '09!

In the units of measurement section of the config on the OBC, it lets you select KpA or PSI... interesting... maybe a future feature will display PSI? Hidden menu?

Why would they make you select if you want PSI or KpA, if there is no display of PSI anywhere?

I have no idea. It would be nice though; I thought it was a fantastic feature on our Infiniti FX35 and G35...it was great to know the exact tire pressure for each tire. Yes, with the current BMW system, I know if all 4 tires are "green," then they're all ok, but I think the low, "yellow" tire indicator appears on a tire if it's ~ 10psi lower than your original tire psi "reset." So, i.e. if I push the "reset tire psi" when I inflate all 4 tires to 35psi, they won't turn yellow unless it gets below 25psi...or something like that. I would rather know exactly what all 4 of my tires psi are at all times, in real time monitoring (like the Infiniti system). Maybe BMW will do this in the near future?

What's pathetic for BMW is the fact that even GM cars like the Chevy HHR, G6, and other vehicles display the actual PSI for each tire on their driver information centers. Kinda sad that we can't see this with or without iDrive.

That would be great--I have to go out and muck around with my tires, one at a time, to get that info right now...how quaint, how...20th century.

In one of the BMW "Owners Circle" videos, I saw it showing the pressure for individual tires.... Between that, and the choice of pressures in Idrive, my best guess is that it works in EU markets but not in the US market. And that probably has something to do with the TPMS. I mean, the US DOT won't even approve an emergency triangle (european delivery customers have to bring them back in luggage or lose them), so maybe it's the same with the sensors?
