Will the M340i xDrive make a good winter beater?
Driving after our first snowstorm in Ontario, Canada with new wheel and tire package from the dealership installed. Handling was not quite as confident as my AWD Acura TLX but that's probably because it is new and I'm not used to it yet. And the Bimmer is putting down way more power. I'm wondering if the rear-biased set up makes the car so fun to drive in the dry makes it a little less capable in the snow and ice? Probably just need more ice time to get used to it.
For the most part this car has been excellent and getting tail happy just means ease up on the pedal. I'm very interested in other snow-bound drivers' impressions. |

Wanna get together sometime? I am in Markham and getting my own M340i very soon. Probably 28th. I have been driving bmw both RWD e90 and AWD F32 for the past 6 and half years including 6 winters. They are no issue in the snow even the RWD, both with proper snow tires of course. Never cheap out on tires. I think M340i with a LSD will be even better than my current 435ix.
Update: Ok, i just saw you are in Kingston by looking at your dealer installed license plate cover. It is quite some distance. |
