Looking to install the black chrome exhaust tips on a X3 M, are the existing ones just screwed in. don't have the vehicle yet but hoping the install if this is easy enough.

Mine are black chrome...is it because it's an X3MC?

Based on my observation, it is just a slip fit.
So, rubber mallet from the inside should push out the one on the muffler, then slip in the new one in.

I didn't try taking it off since mine is black already.

If they are like the F80 M3 they will be a slip on, some come off with a pull others needed some persuasion.

A 3 point puller tool and scrap wood also works well. Plenty of videos about this on YouTube.
