Whatdo you run for tire pressure on your 328?
My recently acquired 2008 328 E93 has the run flat tires. The door sticker says 38psi in back and 32psi in front. I checked the pressures last night and they were 35psi all around. What combination tire air pressures have you found that gave you good service with a decent ride?

I hate to break it to you but decent ride and run flat tires do not go together.

That may be true but it is what I have. That's the reason for asking the question about what air pressures owners are using here. Yes I have read the manual. Yes I have read the sticker on the door. Sometimes a few psi can make a big difference. Asking questions is what this forum is about right?

On my now wrecked 2008 328i, I ran Michelin Pilot Super Sport (non run flat) - 235/40ZR18 front and 275/35ZR18 rear - after some experimenting, I settled on 35 psi front and 41 psi rear for the best ride/handling.
On my current 2006 330i, I plan on running the same sizes, but Pilot Sport 4S tires. I'll start with the above pressures, and see how they feel. For winter, I run Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 - 235/45R17 all around, with 35 psi front and 36 psi rear. Cheers! |

Not sure if this is good data or not for you. I do not have an E93 but I do have an E46 330ci convertible. I bought the car in September of this year. The previous owner kept the tire pressures at 32 all around. The car handled like shit. The convertibles are heavier cars with less ridgity. The E46 convertible calls for 38 front and 46 rear, or close to that. In other words my car was well under pressured. I upped the tire pressures to the factory spec and it opened up the chassis wonderfully.
So I'd go with what the door placker says and use BMWs recommended specs. |
