Jesus that's bad, we need Carwow to do a drag and rolling race with the Stelvio/X3MC/F-pace SVR/GLC 63S.

I agree....

These idiots enjoy just playing around with the cars more than actually properly testing them. Kinda pathetic video really.

They test cars in Colorado above 5000 feet, that elevation adds a second or a bit more to all the cars tested, except for electric vehicles.

I like the bit where he says "oops, I hit the windshield washer instead of the shifter"...WTF?

Yeah, agree. Plus Roman is probably 50-80 lbs heavier than the other guy, plus he didn’t use the LC. Well... at least he knows how to say “sehr gut”.

I live at a little less than 5000 ft, and this is not exactly true. N/A engines are hit the hardest with decline in power at altitude at roughly 3% per 1,000 feet. Meanwhile cars that have a turbo are able to compensate easily for the lower density at altitude by working a little harder and I believe the rough estimate for forced induction is about 3-5% total loss in power.

My 340i MPPSK hits 60 in 4.2ish (4 flat w/ roll out) seconds, verified by dragy, at 4800 feet. The X3 M, in the right hands, will still be under 4 seconds with ease. There is no way that those cars are losing so much horsepower that their times are nearly 2 seconds off the mark. No way, no how.

Idiots. Always a bad channel except for their 4wd off road stuff. Maybe edit out the incompetence? Maybe race more than 1/16 of a mile?

The best I got on 91 octane, 4500ft above sea level with 3500DA, was 4.0 flat w/out 1ft rollout on my X3M Comp which equates to 3.7-3.8 seconds with a 1ft rollout.

The Fast Lane Car did not use LC and just flooring it w/out LC slows it down quite a bit. LC is a must.

Interesting that 4.0 is your quickest. I would've thought a larger performance gap between a 340i and X3M, as my best run was at 6500ft DA, 4780' actual, which is not an insignificant difference. Also on 91 octane.

Either the X3/4M is much harder to launch properly, or BMW really didn't design it to be a stop light rocket.

However, not using the LC because they thought it difficult was a silly excuse...

I did this test on my X3 M40i - https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1537104

LC takes off around .4 seconds on that platform, I will most likely do the same on the X3M when I get mine

When I ran the 4.0 flat, I had all the time in the world to properly set up LC for an ideal run. Others with lighter cars (no panoramic roof, spare, etc) have run 3.55-3.6s but that was close to sea level on 93 Octane. Plus, I weigh 230lbs, so not the lightest driver.

Absolutely, LC is very tricky to time *if you are racing someone head to head. This car is far from a stop light monster, in real world conditions. Building boost to launch properly is required to take anyone from a light.

The 340 might be close to the X3M from 0-60. However, the X3M shines after 60. I ran a 12.0 flat at 116MPH via Dragy (same run I got the 4.0 sec 0-60). From a roll it definitely hustles.

The X3 M40I has a lot more low down torque than the X3M. LC most likely reduces 1 full second from the 0-60 times on the X3M...give or take a few tenths.

HUGE difference on the X3M when building boost and properly using LC.

Let us know what your findings are!
