VK-Motorwerks oil-cooler and Code3 / Spearco FMIC installed

Hi,

Today I installed the VK-Motorwerks oil-cooler upgrade and the Code3 / Spearco FMIC.

The oil-cooler install works great, everything fits perfect. I did the cuttings of the wheel well and brake duct in advance ( bought new parts ). For me this OC looks pretty much like the Dinan OC.

Thus I had fitment issues on my steptronic car with the Turbonetics / Spearco FMIC I installed the Code3 / Spearco FMIC. Everything went well and fits without any issues. Thanks to VK-Motorwerks, Code3 and HP-Autowerks !

I took the car to a shop. 5 hours later everything was finished and works fine. I would not recommend a DIY install for the OC.

Ciao,
Eugen

No, didn't make sense for a DIY. I can make pics of the installed units on the car.

Due to the FMIC exchange we already had removed the front wheels, the (Msport) bumper and wheel wells which was quite useful for the OC upgrade. We removed the big coolant radiator fan as well and loosened the headlight on the passenger side to push it out by ~ 1.5 inch to get plenty of space to work. I did not disconnect the oil-hoses from the OEM OC to avoid dropping any oil by removing it.

I had a Spearco unit on my car already, so nothing feels different ( the former Turbonetics / Spearco does not really fit on steptronic cars ). Did a 20 miles drive only and the oil stays cool at 230 degF / 110 degC. Leftcoastman tracked his car with the OC upgrade and great results.

Both the OC and FMIC are great units .
