Who custom ordered their X3M? What was the timetable?

For those who custom ordered their X3M, how long did the process take, from spec'ing and ordering at the dealer, to actual delivery? If you can post your region, that would be helpful as well, as I'm betting shipping time to CA is longer than shipping time to the SE.

In the midwest, my last three X3's and X5 were less than 10 days order to delivery.

I think most folks waiting longer (assuming same proximity/distance) are ordering when a dealer doesnt have a "current" allocation, so they are waiting on that. My dealer has had current allocations, i.e. modified a current lot/inventory order, with my specs. Dealers all have allocations, but they may be weeks or months out. My X5 was 7 days exactly.

On my most recent order, my dealer had to swap allocations with another dealer for a build week a couple weeks out, to get it done by 1/2/2020. Even with that delay, it was 2.5 weeks order to delivery. They could have used a normal allocation, but that was a January build, and as such, wouldnt have arrived by my deadline.

I am in the northeast. I have done 5 builds and the average is 4 weeks. My X3M took the longest though.

3 weeks for me in the same location. Dealer had two build slots.

I ordered the day after thanksgiving and had it delivered the Saturday before Christmas.

There is one “custom” color (sandstone?) no one orders but I am also not aware of more personalization than that.

Though one poster stated he got no paint, just primer. Thread on it here.

It definitely is considering his reflectors are also wrapped and head and tail lights tinted. You can’t even order an individual color, but you think BMW is shipping primered cars to customers? It’s also very close to Donington but matte...

That’s why I said “stated” as it seemed like it might not be real.

Though I don’t think it is too far fetched to think that BMW would save some money on paint to make a sale.
