a little issue....

I have had my 08 335i for about 7 months. My car does not have 29.2, because it was an earlier build. So my mods are AE exhaust, afe intake and jb2. Everything has been smooth running, lots of smooth power for an everyday car. About a week ago I started my car and my temperature read -40, and following that a CEL. So Ive been driving around with this CEL, but it doesn't go into limp mode, which is a great thing. My temperature sensor was out of whack. My good friend is a service advisor at bmw. So i brought my car in with the tune. My temp sensor wire has to be replaced and they may have to change my cluster because this wire runs from there, and my buddy said they MIGHT upgrade my car. I got my car back and they will rebook in 2-3 weeks, cause my car runs fine, (plus i gotta take out my tune).

So my question is should I just live with this broken temp sensor and not get upgraded, or should I just take the risk and fix it?

is it the oil temperature ur talking about or the outside environment temperature? I f its the outside environment temperature then I personally wouldn't care, and although I havent tried the new software it seems like everyone is complaining about it so i wouldnt want it. But if its the oil temperature i would get it fixed and let them upgrade my software if they had to and just get the new jb3 with programs 29.2/v81 edition.

maybe your friend can help you fix the problem outside of BMW? Order the parts needed through Tischer?
