License plate bracket

Just wanted to give you guys my review on this product.

https://www.cravenspeed.com/the-plat...tamped-reviews

I attempted to install this bracket for the front plate this past weekend and at the end i decided not to use it. The bracket was sitting extremely close to the bumper which bothering for me a bit. Also to prevent the pdc sensor from going off, they provide you with these circular foam pieces. The instructions says it might take 1-2 pieces to block the sensor from going off. It came with 4 pieces and i used all 4 as i kept adding one at a time to see if the sensor would stop going off and it was a bust. They also said this bracket is built like a quick release for when you want to wash the car and want to remove the plate easily and quickly. The nut you have to break loose to slide the bracket off wasn't easily accessible at all. So at the end of the day i decided to just install the provided bmw front bracket and installed my plate. I actually don't think it looks that bad but that's probably because i have a custom black plate and black frame around it.

I bought the exact same unit because I couldn't get the good old US Millworks plate to work. This one would also not work with the PDC, so I turned off that setting in iDrive - never used it in previous BMW's so not needed in this one. Thanks for the review though

Thanks for the reviews. Prevented me from buying one. I had one that clamped on to the mesh below the grills on the M3 that worked well. I'm hoping for a similar solution for this car (unless there are sensors in there that I'm unaware of).

Decided to try the bracket from my F80 and it fits! Basically this is mounted to the mesh and does not interfere with parking sensors.

Weird. Just entered the vehicle year, series etc and it says doesn't fit.

So you all are required to have a front plate out there in that big state of Texas?

I just got to San Antonio a few weeks ago. Apparently, yes, Texas requires a front plate, but I have seen probably 25% of cars without them.

It is required by law to have one on the front now. i normally just risked not running it but after getting 2 tickets for not having a front plate on my other cars, i just decided to put it on and not deal with it anymore lol.

Here is where I mounted my plate. used the factory plate holder and wire tied it to the mesh grill. I didn't know where else to put it. Wished NY didn't require it (yeah right).

Ive seen couple of people do this and always wondered... wouldnt this effect the cars performance by blocking airflow to the coolers?

It will definitely disrupt air flow but I really did not want to drill the bumper.
hopefully someone out there will come up with a better solution.

If you have the Driving Assitance Plus, you will also block the Radar in the front.

Weird. Just entered the vehicle year, series etc and it says doesn't fit.
Not the best pic but wanted to show it doesn't hit the bumper or any other parts like some of the tow hook options

Is that a special bracket or custom.

Not exactly secure, but looks like a decent option.

Driver assistance plus package: In addition to Extended Collision Mitigation and Active Driving Assistant contents, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go maintains your selected speed. This radar-based system keeps your preselected distance from the vehicle ahead with autonomous braking, if needed.

I found a way to fit the stock plate bracket without drilling the bumper.
