Help! Engine Malfunction no codes!!!

So I have a 2013 335is at about 97k miles and not gonna lie ran the piss out the car the other day and I noticed a light rattling around the turbos or downpipe area and once it hits a positive boost it it goes into limp mode so went to get it checks and no codes at all... need major help not very knowledgeable on bmws
Bought it used upgraded charge pipe and cold air intake mods not sure about anything else it's the 7SPD dct

Did you use a generic scanner to read the codes?

The car definitely has codes stored if you had an engine malfunction, but you need a BMW specific scanner to show them if they are not popping up.
