Question A Scene Could Change F1 | RIP Senna

i never been a fan of Imola because of this reason and probably never will..
most of you might already know, this illustration is called "If Only" and if this scene d be real, things could change a lot in F1 history..

May 1, 1994.
RIP Ayrton Senna..

My absolute idol.

Growing up in Brazil, couldn't wait for Sundays, staying up late or waking up before the sun just to watch him race... great memories.

I've seen the "If Only" image before, but still get goosebumps every time.
RIP, and thank you for all you've given us Brazilians and racing enthusiasts world-wide.

I'll never forget -

lucky to watch Senna live...[/QUOTE]

Watching it live 1 May 1994 and Bob Varsha making the call as announcer on the TV world feed....I (like many of us) thought the initial impact looked survivable....we all had seen worse shunts and many drivers walked away....if only the suspension arm had not made contact with Ayrton Senna de Sliva's head....perhaps today's driver's halo would have prevented this outcome.

I have a whole vertical row of pics devoted to Ayrton in my garage.

I saw him race in person, and watched the Imola accident live on TV as well. At first I thought he's invincible, so not much to worry about. When I heard he died, I wept a little. He was amazing, and I always liked his driving and personal style over Prost.

I'm honoured that my young daughter and I are at the bottom of your Senna row!

Cheers,
Eamonn aka eggman

You guys are killing me. I'm sitting and waiting to get my hair cut and I'm tearing up a bit.

I finished watching the 1994 season after he was killed and didn't watch F1 for 2 years. It was just too painful. When Villeneuve was killed the day I finished my finals testing for for HS, I did the same thing but only stopped watching for a year. Senna's death absolutely cut my heart out. Easily one top 10 of the most horrible events I've seen in my life.

Thanks for posting this guys. I will watch when I get home.
