Is it ok to unplug JB4 to plug in THOR wifi and do update?

As mentioned in the title, are there any problems or other steps needed to protect the tune? I don't have the Bluetooth connection. Thanks!

Leave the JB4 plugged in to do the JB4 firmware update.

Anytime you are flashing and have JB4 its advised to put the JB4 in map 0. Then pull the obd connector. Do your flash. Leave the car off a minute. Then reconnect the JB4 obd connector. Then start the car and put the JB4 back to your preferred map.

You cannot update JB4 with thor to my knowledge.

I would definitely recommend the JB4 bluetooth kit. It's like 30 buck and allows so much more functionality and convenience. It's just a couple of clicks to update firmware vs connect to the JB4 directly.

Yeah battery charger is a good precaution with the initial flash. After the initial it's not necessary for map changes as they are only a minute or 2 tops.

Also its recommended to drive the car moderately in a mix of traffic conditions for the first 50 miles after the trans flash.

Please read through the XHP manual before attempting the flash. For someone with no prior experience you should read through and follow instructions carefully. Battery charger, buckle seatbelt, don't touch or open anything, headlights off, HVAC off, device in airplane mode, etc etc.

IIRC they say to remove the JB4 completely, although it may not be necessary and is just a precaution.

To load flash maps or use the OBDII port for any reason yes you just unplug the JB4 OBDII port. Nothing else needs to be done.
