Staggered 22x10 and 22x11
I’ve found some replica 722s that are 22x10 et 40 and 22x11 et 35 rather than the oem size of 22x9.5 et 37 and 22x10.5 et 43. The bender says they will work with oem tire sizes and have a more aggressive fitment. Does anyone have enough wheel knowledge to know if there would be downsides to this sizing?
Thanks! |

I usually use this website https://www.willtheyfit.com
From there you can see a graphic to simulate wheel and tire. I want to change my tires only, but haven't been able to find the size for the rear tires 335/30r22, this will add the look im looking for front 295/35r22 |

Ok, so it looks like they will stick out a little bit more (3mm) but also closer to the suspension by almost 1cm. So the big question is whether the clearance to the suspension will become an issue.

Great to hear! I don't suppose you have any photos of them? I'd love to see how much more aggressive the spacing looks over the OEM ones. Thanks!

If they are these on eBay, or ones like them from China..... don't do it. These aren't forged like OEM, or even flow formed. They are just ultra-cheap cast aluminum China garbage.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/22-GLOSS-BL...wAAOSwSXFd4fUb With a 15-17" wheel, with taller tires, and a lighter car??? Maybe. But for a big, heavy car, with big heavy wheels, and low profile tires??? These things are a ticking timebomb. The first medium sized pothole you hit... you'll wish you hadn't bought them. Some things are ok to skimp on... but wheels, tires, and suspension components are not one of them. If you are LUCKY, all that will happen is they dent beyond repair, and you're back to your OEM set. If you hit a curb the wrong way or something... these wheels will crack in half, and completely separate from the hub. If you pay China garbage prices..... you get... well.... China garbage. Save a little longer and buy an OEM set..... or buy an aftermarket set from a reputable manufacturer. There's a REASON these are so cheap. https://www.carreviewsncare.com/fact...ths-and-facts/

Although I agree with you and would never buy cheap Chinese replica wheels, our BMW non-genuine ///M wheels aren’t forged, or even flow formed either.

Even still..... BMW quality control, casting process, etc. No way would I put un-sponsored Chinese wheels on my car. It's not "China" I'm bashing.... as much as their lack of regulation. Plenty of companies contract the Chinese to build things under strict QC standards (Apple)..... It's the Chinese manufacturers that AREN'T contracted by a major sponsor, and have no QC. That's all the crap that ends up on eBay and the Wish app. |

And yeah, X5/X6 wheels are not forged. Very few BMW wheels are forged actually. Even the comp pack 666M wheels on the M4 aren't forged. |

To each their own. I've been burned by Chinese garbage too many times.
If you want to trust your family's life.... and your 6-figure car, on a set of wheels built in a Chinese sweat shop by 8-year old slave labor, zero quality control, zero accountability, and from a company that will close shop and change names the very moment an incident becomes public??? Then by all means.... buy some Chinese eBay knockoff wheels.

Even though what I shared with you notes they are forged (from BMW's ZCP docs)? Show me they are not

Chinese knockoff wheels made by fly-by-night companies are just as high quality, and go through the same rigorous quality and safety testing, and are equivalent in strength, durability, and quality as OEM and reputable aftermarket wheel manufacturers. In fact, there is no difference whatsoever. You and your family can feel 100% safe buying Chinese knockoff wheels, and trust whole-heartedly that the #1 priority for Chinese companies that sell solely on eBay under fake names..... is the safety of American families. You should buy sets for all your cars. |

On the other hand.... if they operate under their own name (or lack thereof).... they will do anything and everything to save as much money as possible. Those crafty f-ers would make wheels out of recycled dogshit and dismembered body parts if they thought it would save them a buck. If they aren't contracted by a reputable non-Chinese company..... you can guarantee that anything you buy, will be an absolute piece of garbage. Tires.... Chinese tires are a PRIME example of this. Ebay is full of them.... they have some of the worst reviews on the planet. The quality control is non-existent... You could buy a set of 4 matching tires, and the only thing that will match is the tread. You could end up with 4 different rubber compounds all rated the same, because NONE of it is subjected to any quality control whatsoever. Your "200 treadwear summer tires" could be made from the same compound they make military tank treads..... no one cares...... and next year, that company will continue selling the same garbage, but under a different name. Many of the "new" Chinese tires on ebay.... are from companies that went under over a year ago. And.... to make matters worse.... NOTHING has a warrantee. Even if they say it does, it doesn't. By the time you want to return it, they've already sank the fly-by-night company.... and restarted operating under some new name. And if all this wasn't enough??? They LIE. Why? Because they can, and no one will ever hold them accountable. You can't sue a company that doesn't exist anymore. That's how they get away with it all. Those "forged" no-name ebay wheels? Yea.... right. By the time you crack one and realize they are made from pot-metal, and the inside of the metal looks like a dish sponge.... the company will be long-since gone. Hopefully, your family isn't dead from it. But even if your whole family dies.... no one cares. They were made by a company that doesn't exist anymore, that was owned by a person that used a fake name you can't spell or pronounce, led by a gov't that will never admit to any wrongdoing whatsoever. Good luck. Once you buy their crap.... it's your crap.... forever. "Made in China" under a reputable non-Chinese brand name?? Sure... go ahead. "Made in China" under a China brand or no-brand?? Don't even think about it. Last edited by Ninefourteener; 08-10-2020 at 09:25 AM.. |
