Dinan/BM3 install
Hi there I was curious if any has any clue of what is to happen if I were to flash my car with bm3 with the Dinan stage 1 piggy back tune. It may seem like a stupid question but I don't have the OEM wiring harness and wanted to switch to BM3 but was just curious if I could save some money by just flashing it without having to by a new harness.

Are you asking whether or not you can flash Dinan on top of BM3? The Dinan piggyback requires a harness, but BM3 does not.
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to install a Dinan piggyback over the BM3 tune. Dinan now has a flash tune. Is that what you're referring to?

Dinan piggyback is an add-on that connect to your existing DME harness, it does not replace your OEM harness. You can simply remove it and your car back to stock 100%.
Then you can flash your car with BM3 without issue.

OP, the if the Dinan is like other piggyback units it is just a section of wiring that is added to the OEM harness, it doesn't actually take the place of it. you just need to remove it if that's the case, and then you can flash BM3.

Having said that you do not want to run a flash tune with the dinan piggyback still in place. It will continue to add boost over the flash tune. Remove the dinan, then install the flash. |

You're right. Definitely dont want to use the full dinan system with bm3. Infact i dont think you are supposed to even flash with it hooked up. Remove first.
