Stock turbo and HPFP limit
I am currently running on 1.0 bar and full bolt on on f30 335XI and i was wondering is it possible to max out the turbo to 1.3bar. And also is the HPFP going to fail because i heard the n55 pump is crap ?

Stock HPFP is plenty big enough for stock turbo at full tilt.

If you start to mix ethanol you will not be able to run 1.3 bar on stock HPFP. It's dialed back to about 16.5 psi max. Also, its not about the HPFP "failing" and the HPFP is not "crap", its just the first bottleneck in fueling. Nothing is wrong with the HPFP, though... |

Running just 93 16.5 psi was my best with totally clean timing.
I was getting 17 psi with e30 mixed with 93 and clean timing. I tried for more but timing became erratic. I tried a bit more ethanol and hpfp would crash above 18 psi. I am now running a solid 19psi with 70%meth and clean timing and wgdc in the 80s. I feel like I could push a bit more but I don't want to drastically reduce the life of the turbo beyond what I already am. The meth has been a great addition for me. It only runs when wot so I don't burn through that much and I'm getting better gas mileage. Plus its more convenient than driving to get ethanol and iats drop about 30 degrees when its flowing. Cheap upgrade and easy install. Last edited by 435gc; 07-06-2020 at 12:41 PM.. |

I did the BMS kit with the stealth tank. I also covered the meth line with the below shielding within the engine bay. It looks totally stealth. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073XD43MB...p_mob_ap_share |

Install was pretty easy. Took about 3 hours. You dont have to lift the car or anything. However, now having done it once I'm confident I could do it in about an hour. It took a bit to get familiar with the parts and how the compression fittings worked. Toughest part was getting the nozzle and the line feeding the nozzle into the meth bung on my charge pipe. You have to twist one one direction and the other the opposite direction. This was difficult for me because the bung on my charge pipe was facing away from me just enough so I couldn't see right at it. So I had to do it mostly by feel. Then I got slowed down by about 45 mins trying to get the pump power. You tap a power wire into the fuse box located under the plastic cowl on the passenger side of the engine bay. Turns out there are a number of fuse slots in that box that do not have power running to them. So when I ran my forked powerline in and tried to purge the pump nothing happened. At first I though I had installed something wrong or the maybe the pump was faulty. So I pulled out my multimeter and discovered that the location in the fuse box I had tapped wasnt powered. Once I found a powered terminal I was good to go. Last edited by 435gc; 07-11-2020 at 10:05 AM.. |

I am using a single #10 nozzle in the distal end of my charge pipe. Essentially right after where it connects to the outlet of the intercooler. |

It's totally camouflaged with the black heat wrap I linked to. Only someone familiar with a meth injection kit would recognize that it's not oem. Most people who work at the Jiffy Lube where I get my state inspection done are teenagers or early 20s. I'm pretty confident that they wouldn't know that it wasnt supposed to be there. |

I'm surprised you are running 19psi with such a low wgdc. What rpm are you referencing?

I don't have a good place that I can get up to speed for a 4th gear log. So 3rd is the best I can do. I have a duty cycle bias being applied starting at 5500rpm in a attempt to hold on to a bit more boost on the top end. I get a smidge, but I'm not sure if it is worth it. I may back that off so the WGDC will stays in the 80s throughout. https://datazap.me/u/435gc/log-15945...log=0&data=1-4
