Dyno day!!

The time has finally come to finish fine tuning my custom E30ish tune.

I've reserved 2-3 hours for a mustang dyno and will have Fabian from PureBoost add the finishing touches. Its been great working with this tuner and truly see the difference in tuning approaches when viewing other data logs from other tuners.

I'll be sure to post data logs of the final revision and some video as well.

Remember the baseline if you don't already have it and have time Your car will run perfectly on stock map - I have done this many times.

I would say do the tuned runs first, then go to stage 0. Doing it the other way around could lead to some timing issues due to the need for adaptations. So do all your tuning/power pulls, then do a few stago 0 runs last.

Can you take some video of the remote process? I'd be very interested in seeing how a remote tune like this is done.

Bored during lunch break so did a few pulls in Stage0. Car is actually faster than I remembered "stock" but man does it need some extra road to wind out 4th haha

Boost control got a bit wobbly up top but....PWG "trademark"

Not sure if I can run stock map with xdi-35 pump and about 6 gallons of E85?

I was thinking of getting a base line with the ots maps but don't want to inconvenience of then bringing 6 gallons of E85 to mix on the spot.

Thoughts?

if anything I may just focus on getting the final touches on the tune and come back a week later for some base line pulls, although its not ideal since some variables will not carry over. Such as air temp, humidity etc.

From what was explained to me, I will log 2 pulls then email them to fabian. He will quickly revise map and send update. Continue this process until final revision is completed.

IIRC stage 0 still lets you select all the flash time options, so you should be able to run stage 0 with the box checked for the XDI.

As far as the actual ethanol content, 6 gallons is a decent amount, but i dont think its outside what fuel trims can handle. Timing certainly shouldnt be an issue lol.

I do also like the idea of comparing the final revision of your custom tune to a stage 2+ E20 map (assuming you are MHD).

Yeah I believe your correct about having the option to add the xdi pump with stage 0.

I don't know much about running a stock tune with E40 fuel. Although I do have the supporting mods... but I will be going back to the dyno for some comparison numbers, stock tune, PS2 OTS map, all pulls will be with 93 octane only.

Yes I do have MHD but I did not purchase the ethanol maps.

Munchi - you have a very similar setup to me. I am curious, do you have any draggy or 1/4 mile times?

Get all the results in DIN 70020 or SAE J1349 then at least the temp does not matter

No I do not have any draggy or 1/4 mile times. Honestly I don't have much interest in those times since it puts so much stress on the entire vehicle. But i am considering a roll race event in the future
