Anyone here have an electric scooter they use for fun?
I grew up on an electric scooter before i could drive and i used it almost every day, for some reason i got a great deal of satisfaction riding it! Things changed when i got my license of course, but now with Bird/Lime Etc. taking over cities and pushing for new laws permitting them, ive been entertaining the idea of buying a couple scooters for me and my gf to cruise around on for fun. We tried bicycles but she asthma and gets tired rather easily. Plus, not putting in any work to cruise around can be quite enjoyable! The Gotrax on Amazon for $250 is cheap and its got me thinking

Before you give up on e-bikes due to respiratory illness, I would recommend you look at class 3 models that can be operated throttle-only up to 20mph. I believe they are legal where other bikes/e-bikes are in most of the US.
More expensive than standing scooters (on average), but far more practical and versatile. In addition, some of these have adopted the form factors of other traditional motorized two wheeled vehicles such as seated scooters, mopeds, mini-bikes, and even dirt bikes. |

my 14 yr old son has a segway ninebot es4 and LOVES it, but it isn't nearly as robust as it should be. We've been through control boards, motor hubs, throttle hall switches, etc.
Its been a good learning experience for him, both on how to wrench on something and how much it costs to maintain a 'vehichle'. |

For about a year I had a bit of a hassle trying to move my work car out of it's parking space and then park my personal car in the same spot, at the same time as several other people. Said parking spot was exposed to the elements, and only 1.25 miles from my house so I bought an electric skateboard for a combination of fun and commuting. I could just throw it in the trunk of my work car and drive off. We have a new parking garage at work so I no longer use it for commuting and sadly it's just collecting dust now.

My dad has an electric bike and a Vespa but I’m not sure if the Vespa is electric or not. He loves them. I love the idea of him having fun but have concerns about him riding them (Or any bike) on public roads from a safety perspective.
