Which would you rather have?

I'm admittedly a PS fan, so I'd choose the PS5. But I'm also growing tired of the little cat and mouse game between Microsoft and Sony on releasing a price for either system.

For the PS5, I'm guessing the price in CAD will be $599. And probably $500 for US people. I'm really hoping its cheaper though - I have a $100 bet riding on the price of the PS5 right now - if it comes in under 595 CAD, then I win, over $605, I lose. In between, neither of us win.

Xbox guy since the first xbox (still have it somewhere) - Will probably get PS if i get either (got a high end PC about 6 months ago).

Feel xbox dropped the ball last gen and haven't done enough to reassure me they will have the best games for the new gen either. Thus i`d choose the PS if I was in the market .

Neither at this time. Don't pre-order and wait it out until the games you want to play come out. Let both companies work for your money and loyalty.

I waited a year after launch before buying a PS4. The glacier white Destiny bundle made me weak in the knees so I caved. Destiny isn't for me, and it wasn't until almost a full year after I bought it that I actually had something worth playing on it (in my opinion anyways). I had my PC until then.

So I bought a PS4 a year in and didn't actually play it until 2 years after launch. It is still my favorite console I've ever owned, but I'm going to wait it out again this time around.

Seems like Xbox is focused on horsepower, and PS5 on optimization. Let the games you want to play get released first and then make your decision so you don't get burned. They're not going anywhere.

I’ve read a few articles recently saying somewhere between 450-550 for ps5 disc version which is quite a bit cheaper than the 600ish I thought it was gonna be. I’m getting ps5 for myself and Xbox for my nephews, they’re obsessed with nba 2k plus I can borrow it if there are some exclusives I wanna play like halo or forza.

Always been a PS guy from the beginning but I only have Last of Us for PS4. That's what I bought the system for. I haven't decided if I want to play Last of Us 2 yet. I have two PS4s (one is mine, one is my daughters) and we're up to four xboxes (I have the Project Scorpio, my son has the One S and the two older Ones he's using as servers or something). I'm going to get two Series S systems for us.

As long as Microsoft doesn't stop home xbox setups (we buy one game digitally and can both play on separate systems)

I have pre ordered both the PS3 and PS4 and then bought a PS4 Pro later. I’m hoping I’m on the list to pre order again. I also had an Xbox one x just to play forza but with the PS5 coming, I gave it to my nephews to make room.

Yeah, it looked like they had them at Best Buy, had one in the cart but couldn’t reach the payment part and finally got a pop up it was sold out. I gave up at 1am.

Definitely play The Last of Us 2. It's even better than the first in my opinion. Just keep in mind that the narrative may not play out exactly as you imagine it would.

So we might be going to arbitration here. It is released at a recommended retail price of $500 for the digital edition and $629 for the disc version.

So he is arguing the digital edition is a stripper edition, whereas I'm saying the only thing missing is an optical drive, so it should count. We'll see where we wind up, might have to get a friend to play judge while we present opening arguments and our case to him lol.

Avid gamer here, I currently own both the Xbox One and PS4, along with prior systems in the past, never really was a fanboy of one or the other, each one has there pros and cons.

Usually when consoles release, I buy one and end up buying the other down the road. Usually I get the Xbox first but this time around I'm up in the air as the game launch titles for both consoles are questionable.

Honestly I'm more excited for Cyberpunk 2077 than the next-gen consoles, but with it all the delays being pushed back to late Nov, I may settle for the Xbox Series X.

Side note: I do want to get back to the PC master race, I just bought a few gaming parts and looking to complete a build by end of the year.

I WAS going to go with PS4, but after the fiasco and wasted time yesterday, I don't have time to compete with incel neckbeards to land one of a select few consoles. What an absolute abhorrent waste of my time. Good riddance Sony, I will snag a prevalent x box when I feel like it.

Xbox guy here. Feels like I just got the Project Scorpio X I have now as it still runs like day 1. I will be getting a PS5 first this go around, but I only need it by March or whenever MLB The Show comes out next year. No rush.

With Microsoft now acquiring Bethesda, I'm sort of on the fence now. They make most of the games I like, and I'm worried Microsoft will make them exclusive to Xbox...though I don't think so. But I'd be more than a little pissed if I can't play the new Elder Scrolls 6 game whenever they decide to produce it.

I think I'll wait for a little bit before pulling the trigger on any system now. See if there are any rumours on Elder Scrolls.
