IMSA Sportscar Championship...Motul Petit Le Mans
Such awesome racing and intense competition with multiple lead changes in this ten hour "sprint" yesterday....Road Atlanta's annual race never disappoints.
So great to see world-class sports car racing playing out this late in the season.

I was there yesterday, hadn't been in 20 years (the year Bill A flipped the LMR). It's an incredible event to attend, and I highly recommend it.

Tell us about your experience; the TV coverage was awesome and the signifiant number of lead changes was intense; the onboard footage of the DPi cars carving their way through the lower classes....AT SPEED was incredible; did you have specific seats and if yes, which turn were you at? I really want to see this race in-person....it's on my bucket list.

Unfortunately my son and I weren’t able to attend this year. Got to see some of the race on TV. Those final 5 minutes were pretty intense. How was vendor row this year? What did BMW have on display?

The final minutes were CRAZY!!!! Really intense to see the three classes flat-out and aggressively taking risks for track position.

The sensation of speed doesn't really translate well on TV. The cars going down the straight is pretty intense, and they all sound wildly different. The cars are all bunched up for the first several laps, so you'll see all of the classes go by then wait about a minute or so before they'd be going past you again. Once the field separates it gets a lot more fun to watch in person. |

Thank you for the at-the-track narrative of the race; it must have been awesome!

Nothing better than an IMSA race in person. With the grid walks (once we get back to normal) and most tracks just having general admission where you can go and watch from multiple locations it is really a great experience. I have been to Daytona, Long Beach, Lime Rock, Mid Ohio and other events multiple times and no matter the track it is always a great experience.
Side note, although the 911's took the crown this year for the loudest/best sounding GT car, the old C7R would literally shake you organs as it went by. Diehard BMW fan obviously, but I miss the sound of the C7R. |
