Junked the Pipercross air filter
I know there is a fair bit of debate over air filters but I haven’t seen any recommendations to fit Pipecross foam drop in filters. Probably for good reason, my car had one fitted when I got it & it’s falling to bits:
You’d probably need to zoom in to see but the foam is falling of round the edges & getting sucked into the engine. There were little bits sticking to the top (clean inlet side) of the air box: Again you’d need to zoom in, but its an air filters job to stop stuff no amount of zooming will see not create muck! So it went straight into the bin & I fitted a K&N drop in instead. I know not everyone likes them but I’ve had them on a few on older BMs & they have never fallen apart! |

Go with AFE dry filters. This topic has been heavily discussed.
