All~season tire setup
Hello guys,
I am picking up this puppy next week and will immediately install Michelin All Season 4 tires. I am considering a square setup and I am wondering if this would pose any issues with handling during street driving? If a square setup is okay would 255 or 265 be preferable? Edit: I intend to install the tires on the wheels that come with the car. Edit 2: I would like a square setup so I can do tire rotations. Cheers in advance. James |

The BMW option winter wheels (although they're 20") were a square setup of 255 all around. I, personally, didn't like that on spirited drives.

While you can do a square setup (my vote would be for the 265s) it isn't going to help with rotations. The stock rims are 9.5" width front and 10" rear with different offsets. You can't put the rear rims on the fronts and vice-versa as they won't fit properly.
I put the new AS4s on the stock 21" rims myself but just stuck with the factory staggered sizes and will do a left to right rotation annually when I swap out for my summer rims/tires. The AS4s have a long tread life, so even without front to rear rotation they should last 2-3 times as long as a set of summers. |

go with pirelli all season plus they have very good reviews and have 265 and 295 staggered set for our stock 21s wheels. I have mps as4 but thinking now that 295 on the rear that is what missing on this car. I understand that I should of go with pirelli not Michelin because of the sizes. otherwise mps feels fantastic on the road.

Drove in snow storm and day after on Long Island.
Very confident. Icy and slushy. Use them as my 4 seasons. Quote:

depends ... can go both ways depending on the inspector.
use the summer tires up to 5/32 tread. then switch to all-season tires for Leno of lease. then before lease inspection, put back OE tires and ur good to go.
