Uncommon clothing brands
Saw American Giant on the last thing you bought thread and tried them out, great stuff. Not sure how uncommon they really are but I had never heard of them before.
I recently got some flannels and a ski coat from Fly Low, a brand here in CO, pretty happy with those. I still need to refresh the wardrobe a bit to get ready for the world reopening (some day...) - what are your favorite unique, high quality brands?

Check out KÜHL. Good stuff. I think they're out of Utah or Idaho. Specialize in winter clothing.

for unique (though popular) it would have to be ON apparel active wear and Hunter Outdoor jackets out if the U.K.
though I'm wearing mostly Smartwool and RalphLauren now due to Covid. |

I'm a walking advertisement for LL Bean. At this moment I'm wearing jeans, t-shirt, and sweatshirt all from LL Bean. Quality stuff.

Also Allen Edmonds for me, as a long running favorite...especially if you know your size/width and find something you like in their factory seconds "shoe bank," which used to be a matter of calling Wisconsin but is now insanely easy through their website
https://www.shoebank.com I've gotten a few sales on the shoe bank, as good as $200 for 2 pairs. Can't beat that price for high quality shoes that might literally last a lifetime with some occasional recrafting.

I really miss GoLite for my running gear. Arc'teryx still makes good tech gear (although not as bomb proof as they used to be, still better than most).
There are a ton of great Japanese jean companies too, using that kaihara cone denim. Pay a pretty penny but great jeans that will last forever. |

A few of my favorite brands:
Sunglasses - Persol - Not as popular as Maui Jim, Oakley, Ray-Ban, etc. but rich with history and each pair is hand made in Italy in the same shop since 1917. They are one of the oldest sunglass manufactures on the planet. Oakley - police, military and douchebags; Ray-Ban - Aviation; Persol - racecar driving. Notably worn by James Bond (Daniel Craig), Anthony Bourdain and Steve McQueen. Belts - Anson. Period. Not too pricey for what they are and a lifetime warranty https://ansonbelt.com/?gclid=CjwKCAi...hoCAfgQAvD_BwE Jeans - I'm all over the place, but favorites are PRPS, Rag and Bone, Todd Snyder and several of Ralph Lauren's brands (RRL, Polo, Rugby and Denim & Supply) I like to find old Rugby and D&S deals as they are vintage at this point. Already broken in and faded. I am completely against this raw denim bullshit fad. Shoes - Typical Nike and Adidas for trainers. Boots are typically Doc Martens or Palladium (another cool company with rich history - their story is awesome and I have yet to wear a pair of their boots out) https://palladiumboots.com/?gclid=Cj...BoCR3kQAvD_BwE Workout/Gym gear - Nike and ASRV (https://asrv.com/). Not a big fan of adidas anything other than trainers. I feel like a Russian street level gangster in adidas. Quote:

Seriously though, I have 2 coats form Kuhl. Really good stuff. I've been toasty warm in sub-zero temps, with wind, with just a T-shirt on under the coat. I picked up a Marmot sherpa flannel last winter and have been living in it. My wife kept "borrowing" it from me but it was comically big on her so I just bought her the women's version if it. |

But my trucks get me to a lot of (cold) remote places. Kuhl keeps me mighty warm at camp. |

I almost forgot. Shirts that I wear to work are Next Level brand. The fit is great, the material is soft and most plain shirts are less than $10. Their thermals are perfect. Can be found on amazon.
