M performance exhaust question
Hi all,
My car came with the m performance exhaust, but also came with an aftermarket diffuser, the diffuser didn’t fit the pipes properly and covered the edges of it so melted the diffuser a bit. I bought a new diffuser, m5 style and also the tips don’t seem to fit the cut out for the new diffuser. Any ideas? Can the tips be removed and some different ones fitted? At this point I’m just thinking of selling it and getting a Remus or something. |

So do the aftermarket diffusers fit the 550i? On eBay they just specify g30, I’ve emailed some asking if they fit the m performance exhaust but they are clueless

If you want you could simply swap out the aftermarket diffuser for a stock one unless you are wedded to the look of the aftermarket one. To me the stock diffuser looks fine. From my invoice for the installation of an M Performance exhaust on my 2019 540xi about a year ago: Part number: 51-12-8-067-763; description: Cover, Bumper, Rear 511280. It is the 550's stock piece as I recall. Retail: $209.26, net: $158.83. Labor cannot be much to install even at a dealer. Here's mine installed--Bob
