Can stuck brake caliper damage engine?

I was driving home when the car started shaking exessively and I come to the conclusion that my rear brake caliper is stuck. Now there is rattling coming from the car at idle, do you think it's the engine or the trans?

Well I suppose a rattle could be coming from your engine or your trans, but not in any way related to the stuck caliper.

No, but this is something BMW owners hope for.

On my Nissan I had a stuck caliper, replaced it, same. Turned out to be the hose. I learned that fluid goes in, can't come back due to the deterioration....in my case it was so bad it was like the brakes were literally on, smoking from the pads....but no it can't harm the engine. Though I would think with stability something should get a warning? My Nissan only has ABS

You could damage the engine by having excess load during low RPM situations. It would be the same idea of braking and pushing on gas. Did it damage your engine well that's a whole different subject.
