Any of you guys know if these pieces are cheap / easy to replace?

My dog's collar scratched up a piece of trim on the rear door, and it's making me crazy.

Thanks.

OEM replacement? Definitely not cheap, but easy enough to replace. Not 100% sure, but believe you can't just replace one piece - I think you have to buy a kit i.e. 5 piece kit or something along those lines. If I'm mistaken, someone will surely chime in to correct me. If I'm correct, you could easily be in the $600US+ range

For a single piece? That's insane.

No, for a pre-assembled kit. In other words, I'm not entirely certain you can purchase just one single piece, whichever piece you're trying to replace. I THINK the carbon trim pieces come in a kit i.e. 5 or 6 pieces. Now that I think about it, you may be able to order a single piece from the parts counter at your dealer...either way though, unless someone knows differently, these are expensive.

You can buy them individually, which is good, because the full set is probably closer to $1,500-$2,000 MSRP.

According to realoem.com, for the rear doors the part numbers are 51428747327 (left) and 51428747328 (right) for the aluminum carbon trim. For some reason the MSRP on the left is $285 and $406 for the right...which, seems odd. I'd call the dealer to confirm part numbers, but you should be able to save some money by ordering online if you're replacing them yourself. I'd guess the door cards have to come off to replace...not sure what else.

Thanks. To be clear, I don't have the actual CF trim - it's aluminum with CF weave.

Have to imagine that's cheaper?

Oh, sorry. I misread & thought you had the CF trim. Yes, it will be less expensive. As suggested by previous poster, try contacting the dealer just to get an idea on price, then shop around. You'll definitely find it somewhere cheaper than the dealer

The part numbers I listed were for the Aluminum Carbon, not the carbon fiber.

The carbon fiber part numbers in the rear are 51428747325 and 51428747326 (L and R, respecitifvly). They MSRP at $340 each. Again, it's weird that the aluminum ones are different prices per side...maybe you'll find something different when you contact the dealer to confirm the part number.

So wait the right door piece is $340 for CF and $406 for Aluminum CF?

Feel like I've got to be able to get it for much cheaper.

I don't understand the pricing, but I'm not surprised they're similar in cost. They both MSRP for around $700 for the pair on the rear doors. Forum sponsors sell them for cheaper than MSRP. BMWPartsPro.com is $220 for the left, and $310 for the right. GetBMWParts.com is $230 for the left, and $330 for the right.

I'm not sure if other places have them for a bit more of a discount, but I think that's the ballpark of what you could expect to pay for new oem parts.
