It seems dealer allocations for the new M3 are very few and far between, at least in Southern California. I'd like to know the latest date you can order a model year 2021 M3 before they switch to 2022 model year which starts production in July.

Changeover is in July so typically last allocations will be distributed in early may

Why the focus on 2021? 2022 will the same car plus an extra option or two

Thanks. For the 2022 model year, I don't think they'll start to take orders until Jan of 2022, right?

No, they will roll right into the next model year like they always do... when the 2021 orders dry up for June production dealers will get allocations for 2022 orders for July production

No. Starts production in July 2021. You could place an order now if you want to. Order guides should come out in June. Why would you think Jan 2022? They just stop selling for 6 months? (July -Dec)

Thanks. I thought it'd be the same as the 21 model and they would start taking orders at around the same time as the 21 MY.
So, a couple of questions:
- When will the deliveries be for the 22 MY?
- If you order now and there are extra features/options announced with the order guide, can you modify your order?
- Is there a benefit to ordering now vs waiting for the guide to come out and then order?

In the US, a good estimate is you'd get your car about 2 months after production.

You can modify your order right up to about a week before production starts, order guide will come out before that, so yes.

Only benefit is that the Ms are lower volume with limited production slots. Ordering now assures an earlier spot.

If they start with July production you can probably take delivery in the early fall.
