Porsche 992 GT3 - February 16 Reveal

Very excited for this car as it’s probably #1 on my list of cars I want to get if I’m lucky to get an allocation.

Considering how incredible the new Turbo S is compared to previous generation - I think the new GT3 will be close to the performance of the GT3RS. Biggest change is the double-wishbone front suspension.

Ditto that, I'm also very excited for this car as it’s probably #1 on my list of cars I want to get if I’m lucky to win the lottery.

But seriously, can't wait to see it's final form.

i'm interested in seeing what they can do. so far they have been very hush hush. But AP has let people know a few things:

- up 10 hp (it will be the 991.2 speedster motor with a few tweaks)
- new rear wing with more downforce and less drag
- new front double wishbone suspension, a first for 911s.
- weight is suppose to be the same as the 991 gt3, despite the 992 being larger (thinner glass, less sound deadening, carbon hood ).
- larger 21 inch rear wheels for the gt3

I'm am really liking the 992 GT3. To bad its sold at Porsche dealerships, I can't even get a return phone call on this car. I don't even want an early car next year is fine with me. Looks like a used 991.2 is going to be the best option until the heat comes down on these.

alot of people on the porsche forums share his feelings.

swan neck spoiler is weird, and the front bumper looks like plastic catfish mouth. the size has grown so big its like a panamera coupe now.

That is dubious, as induced drag is a byproduct of lift (downforce).

100%. And I am a massive GT3 fan. It looks too big, like it's a Panamera front end.

My daughter saw the pic and said why does this car have a mustache lol
I’m sure Porsche will offer option for painted bumper for the low low price of $6,500! 😂

Allocations are IMPOSSIBLE to get btw - i have been trying and plenty of ppl on RL forum as well. Therefore they will have no issue moving these.

really just depends on the 992 markup. If dealers are price gouging and people are still paying, its going to prop up the 991.2 market.

991 prices in general are holding well because of strong demand on 992 and allocations even on a 992 S model are not easy to get.

Higher mileage 991.2 GT3 will dip into $120-130k range in next 2-3yrs like the 991.1 cars.

50k for the GT3 and upwards of 100k for the RS is what I have been informed.

992 Carrera models are selling for MSRP or very insignificant discounts (ie 2k off a build that is usually 140-170 for the S/4S)..

Depends on the dealership ... guessing hot areas have $10-20k markup, really hot spots more than that ... I have my name on list at two dealerships that'll have zero markup. fingers crossed.

as for the looks ... I like the clean look of the 991.2 better... too much black plastic contrast on the front... wing is funky (but maybe removable? Which will then Look super clean). A dark blue, gray or black is my plan to minimize some of these features.

Things I love: overall shape, character & sound. track monster. manual. carbon buckets. I can put op with a little cosmetic "meh". I currently drive a '19 Camaro SS1LE which has (imo) one of the worst looking front ends ever. I've also started to really like the G80 which is somewhat controversial lol.

Very interested to see the GT3 debut and configurator!

The increased size sucks obviously. But if they can continue to work their weight-saving magic, you have to chalk it up in the win column.
