I'm using generic ones found on eBay! Holding up well after 4 months!

This box is about 14" external and around 11-12" internal. I could fit quite a lot of stuff in there. Eg. 3 duffel bags, 20" wide and 12" tall went in ok. Reason why I chose this was I could leave the box on the car and drive straight into the garage. With the box it's 6'10". So goes into my 7' garage nicely.

There is actually a small indentation on the car rails to tell where the cross bars should go

Maybe for the BMW crossbars but the manual says follow instruction for installation. Thule has their own recommendations for bar placement
