BMW M1

It's been talked about for quite some time and "M1" may not be the best title for it (due to the history of the M1 namesake) but damn I would buy it in a heart beat. Im guessing the price would be somewhere in the 40k range. . .but what a piece of machinery it would be if the M-Division got a hold of it.

BUY OR PASS?

Kind of an odd angle, but it's still do-able.

Wow, that last artist rendering is gorgeous. However, I'd pass on buying it. Much rather have an E46 M3!!

I'd prob coin-flip it for an E46 M3 with the Competition Package.

Damn , the last picture looks great. If BMW made that, I'd buy it, and I never cosidered the regular 1 since I dont like it .

Got that right! Hopefully it wouldn't have the N54 motor either. I'd prefer a small natually aspirated motor similar to the E30 M3. Ultimately the car would have to go on a big diet to satisfy me, and would need to be able to fit proper wheels and tires, not like the 7.5 inchers up front the 135i has.

I like it... but not sure I'd buy it.
I prefer something with sleeker lines - my gripe with the 1 is the high greenhouse area. The third rendering does the best job at disguising that.

Neither rendering is anywhere near what a 1 series looks like. And I'm just talking headlights/character lines here.

I know you love your boy Chris Bangle (I do too) but I love the last one! It's a step away from where he has taken the 1'er but it's oh so sweet.

read on a few diff publications all confirmed that BMW has scratched the idea of M1 - so no M for the 1 series.

I like how the headlights look way more aggressive, which is how the 1'er should have been from the start.

Wow if the 1 series actually looked like that last picture, maybe they'd sell more of them. BMW sure has a messed up design team.

bmw is selling tons of 1 seies, that's why there are not so many in stock, i think 1 series is a big hit for bmw, 1 series is being selling above MSRP.

i was just in an e46 m3 yesterday and i will take a new m3 over it anyday..the engine trans and tech package alone kill the old m..plus all the interior goodies and quality went up by a good margin

Haha, I like his work but trust me, I hate the 1er. The last one is far better looking, I was just commenting on how it doesn't look like the 1er.

I dont like it.....it should be easy for M division to make 1er M.....but ofcourse they wont realise that for ten years...the whole idea is good but stupid at the same time
