My car has been stuck in the quality check phase for almost two weeks
My car went into production in Feb 19th, but it is still in the quality check phase.Based on some useful info found in the forum, most likely it is selected for more check or it is waiting on the parts. Anyone in the same boat? I don't know if there's anything I can do to expediate this process but the waiting is killing me. I called BMW genius but they don't seem to have a clue either. It is frustrating to know things aren't moving...

Most likely the part shortage. There's an issue with carbon seats and the sound system from what I've picked up reading on here, but who knows for sure. I'm sure it'll get moving soon for you; fingers crossed

Mine was supposed to finish today, but statue is in quality check. I called the genius number and was told my vehicle was selected for more extensive quality checks (whatever that means). The completion date was changed from the 12th to the 15th. I have a base model M3 (MT) and black CF seats and black (shadowline) exterior trim. It seems to me that seats and trim are the only things that could be out of stock but let everything else finish.

Nope, I contacted my CA and he said it may still go on the production line this month since it's 112. (I'll believe it when I see it) I've never waited 9 months for a car!

Most dealers are telling me an 8-week build, 12 MAX. But it seems like some of you are waiting way longer than that. Are they simply lying to me to get my order?

My delay was about a week. My car is on the way to the port. If it gets onto the ship that goes out Saturday, the total time will be 8 weeks to the west coast, which includes a 2-week round trip to the Panama Canal after unloading in Baltimore. If it doesn't get onto that ship, there will be an 18-day delay until the next one.

Based on my research so far, for west coast I think the breakdown after entering 150 is: Build: 1.5-3 weeks To the port: 3-7 days At port waiting for vessel: 3 days - 2 weeks Transit: 3-4 weeks VPC: 1-5 days To dealer: 1-5 days So if you add everything up. 8-10 weeks sound about right, and with some delay you still should be able to get the car within 12 weeks, assuming it goes into production immediately. |
