Need advice....is this part broken?

I was changing my wheels today and notice at the center where you place the wheel...the outer ring is all Rusted

Also, is the ring in the middle suppose to bend-in like that (see picture where the 2 yellow arrows are pointing) ?

Don't know if this happened to you, but as a side note - was it a bitch to get your wheels off? When I switched out my winters for summers, it was a royal pain to wriggle the wheels free because of the rust on the center hub ring.

If it's not too late, go buy some anti-seize compound and spread it on the center ring. It should make a big difference for the next change.

FYI they bend the metal into those grooves to prevent the nut from coming loose
